Privacy Policy

Last updated 21 October 2026

Retro Remote is made by Dobreon sp. z o.o., a company registered in Poland, which is responsible for the data described here. Write to support@dobreon.com about anything on this page.

The short version. Retro Remote does not collect your data. There is no account, no ads, no analytics and no tracking. Your TVs and settings stay on your iPhone, and the remote talks to your TV directly over your own Wi‑Fi.

What stays on your iPhone

The TVs you add and the names you give them, the keys your TVs issue when you pair them, your settings and the era you use. They are kept on your iPhone (pairing keys in the Keychain, and they don’t move to another iPhone). We can’t see any of it.

What leaves your iPhone

Camera and local network

The camera is used only to read the pairing code on your TV screen, if you choose to scan it. The picture is not saved or sent anywhere. Local network access is used only to find and control your TVs.

If you contact us

If you write to us, we receive your email and whatever you put in it. In the app, Settings › Help › Contact support can attach a diagnostics report. You see the whole report before it is sent, and nothing is ever sent automatically.

The report includes: app and iOS versions; TV platform, model and software version; the era and look you use and whether you were trying one on; text size and display settings (Bold Text, Increase Contrast, Reduce Motion) and the system language; error codes and timings, including how the TV handled typed text and waking up (lengths and counts, never the text itself); network type, Wi‑Fi and whether a VPN is on.

The report never includes: your name or Apple Account, the names you gave your TVs, the network addresses of your TV and iPhone, or the apps on your TV.

We use what you send only to answer you and fix the problem. We keep it only as long as we need it to help you, and we delete it sooner if you ask.

Children

Retro Remote is rated 4+. It collects no data from anyone, children included.

Your rights

For anything you have sent us, you can ask to see it, correct it or delete it by writing to support@dobreon.com. You can also complain to a supervisory authority; in Poland that is the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (Prezes Urzędu Ochrony Danych Osobowych).

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version appears on this page with a new date at the top.
